  • IND Quarterback #17

Schefter passes along that the Ravens called the Colts about Jones before they acquired Jacoby Brissett from the Cardinals. Otherwise, this report lacked specifics. According to league sources, multiple teams have called the Colts about trading for Jones, but he couldn’t name a team other than the Ravens. Schefter mentions the Vikings as a possibility, but while that suggestion makes sense given Minnesota’s need at quarterback and Jones’ history with the organization, it’s still purely speculation at this point. Jones is set to start against the Cowboys in Week 9, but isn’t on the fantasy radar outside of 2QB/superflex leagues.
  • BAL Running Back #43
Schefter reports that Hill rather than Derrick Henry was the running back the Giants called the Ravens about. While Henry is certainly the better back between the two, Schefter also reported that the Ravens won’t trade him. With Cam Skattebo (hamstring) doubtful and Tyrone Tracey on injured reserve, the Giants are looking for help in the backfield. Hill would help in that regard, but until a trade is consummated, he doesn’t have much standalone fantasy value behind Henry in Baltimore.
  • BAL Running Back #22
Citing league sources, Schefter says the Ravens recently informed Henry that they have no intention of trading him. While speculation about a trade is understandable given Baltimore’s injuries at the quarterback position, the Ravens are said to have never even considered it, according to Schefter. With the newly acquired Jacoby Brissett likely to be under center in Week 10 against the Chargers, Henry will be in the RB1 mix.
  • DET Wide Receiver #14
St. Brown rarely misses games due to injuries. Fantasy managers should remain optimistic about his availability. The Lions’ No. 1 wide receiver remained limited all week. Although it might hurt to take hits, we expect St. Brown to suit up this weekend. Regardless, keeping it locked to Rotoworld is a must. Updates will be provided as they roll in.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
As expected, Smith will miss another week after not being able to practice due to his ankle troubles. The 27-year-old wideout could be an option after the Week 10 bye, but nothing is certain. The Eagles’ passing attack should be completely avoided for their divisional showdown with New York.
  • TB Wide Receiver #2
Egbuka was able to get in another full practice Friday after getting the same Thursday, so it seems like he’s on the right side of the questionable tag, even with coach Todd Bowles suggesting he’ll be a game-time decision. The 24-year-old wideout is on the WR2/WR3 range for the Sunday Night Football showdown against Chicago if he is able to go.
  • LA Outside Linebacker #95
Garrett will need to come off injured reserve, with the Rams likely making that transaction closer to gametime. The 30-year-old has been as good as any defensive player in football, and for the first time he’ll get to be on the same field as Aaron Donald as teammates. Best of luck, Commanders’ offensive line.
  • NE Wide Receiver #1
Brown was unable to practice again Friday, and the 29-year-old will not be able to roll against the Green Bay secondary. It’s a second-consecutive missed game for Brown, who has played in just three games since his blockbuster deal to the Patriots prior to the season. DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism and Kyle Williams will be Drake Maye’s top wideout targets for the game against Green Bay. Not ideal.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
Nabers was a surprise DNP with a knee injury on Thursday, but said after practice that he expected to play. His return to the field on Friday suggests he will be good to go for Sunday’s game against the Eagles, but we will still check in with a final status when the Giants announce player designations for the weekend. Assuming he is good to go, Nabers should be treated as a normal must-start receiver against a down-bad Eagles team.
  • NYJ Running Back #20
This comes a day after Hall said he expects to play, so this news isn’t all too surprising. Hall’s return could somewhat complicate the Jets’ backfield situation on Sunday, however, as Braelon Allen has played well in Hall’s absence, making a strong case for more touches even when Hall is healthy. Glenn declined to get into how he plans to divvy up his running backs’ touches next week, saying “both guys will play,” when asked about his plans. This was already shaping up to be a tough fantasy matchup on the road against the Chiefs, but a potential backfield split would only further complicate matters. Until we see how things shake out, both Hall and Allen should be viewed as mid-to-low-end RB2s.
